Upon receipt of the amount of $__________, from the New Owner named below: I Preston Bryant, Owner/Breeder of Ridge Runner German Shepherds, hereby guarantee this German Shepherd, identified by - Tattoo number _________ , can be Certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals [OFA], to be completely free of the debilitating disease of hip dysplasia. This OFA Certification can not occur until the age of 2 years [OFA's requirement], when the hips have reached a mature development. The New Owner is in no way obligated to ever have to under go the process involved in OFA, unless he / she so chooses. If the New Owner chooses to submit this German Shepherd for Certification by the OFA; it must be accomplished within 30 days after the 2nd birthday of the German Shepherd and in the case of a female she must not have been bred prior to submission, in order to fall within this OFA part of our guarantee. The buyer has the responsibility to make sure the puppy stays thin and receives a good diet of high quality dog food. The buyer must ensure that the puppy does not run up and down stairs, jog, and jump in or out of a vehicle until they are at least 12 months old, if you do not comply with these terms, the hip guarantee is void. If the dog is maintained in a malnourished or obese condition, the hip guarantee is void. A vet must certify that the dog is of ideal weight, and this certification must be presented along with the OFA certification.
The puppy's general health is guaranteed for 72 hours after the date that it is shipped. There are no other implied warranties past 72 hours other than those mentioned below. The puppy will have a thorough examination by our veterinarian before being shipped. It will come with a State of Maryland Health Certificate signed by our vet. When the pup is shipped it comes with detailed kennel health records for worming and shots.
In addition, I further guarantee for one year from this date, against its death due directly to a Veterinarian's diagnoses of a congenital death. After a German Shepherd leaves my facility, of course, I can no longer be responsible for any kind of accidental death or from any contagious disease or other problems contracted outside of my immediate and direct control.
In addition, I further guarantee that the ears on this puppy will come up within the 1st year of the pups growth cycle and stay up, excluding any accidental or medical injury incurred after leaving my ownership and direct control. If they are not standing by 4 1/2 months, the owner must contact our kennel. A vet must examine the pup at 5 months of age. The ears must be taped for a period of 4 weeks starting at 4 1/2 months. If they are not standing after 4 weeks of taping the owner must again contact our kennel, and the vet must again see the dog at 6 months of age. A pup will not be replaced for soft ears unless these procedures are followed and have been documented in our office. We do not have ear problems in our dogs. If a new owner takes the necessary precautions to tape weak ears 99.9% of the time they will stand. It is entirely possible to have a dog whose ears would have stood had they been taped, but they did not stand because the owner has not done his or her share in making sure the ears were properly taken care of. Customers should know that ears may come up and then go back down when the dog begins to get his adult teeth (at 4 to 5 months). If this happens the ears will ALWAYS come back up after teething.
In addition, I further guarantee that at this time of transfer of ownership to the New Owner, that this German Shepherd is completely sexually intact for future breeding purposes. Male Testicles: The male pups are warranted to have both testicles drop. This part of our warranty expires at 18 months of age. Puppies will not be replaced until 18 months of age. Testicles can drop as late as 18 months. If a pup is replaced because a testicle did not drop, the pup with one testicle must be returned to our kennel at the buyer’s expense.
In addition, I fully guarantee that at this time of transfer of ownership to the New Owner, that this German Shepherd is or can be fully registered with the American Kennel Club AKC - of which we are members in good standing.
Under this guarantee, should this German Shepherd come under any of the above described guaranteed conditions, we will provide a replacement German Shepherd of the same or higher quality, as soon as possible. If the puppy/dog is to be replaced under any of the paragraphs in this guarantee, it must be returned to our kennel at the buyer’s expense.. The shipping costs of the replacement dog will be the responsibility of the buyer.
There are no other warranties expressed or implied other than those expressly stated here. All sales are final and complete with the free and clear transfer of ownership Preston Bryant to the New Owner and there are no expressed or implied co-ownership agreements in affect.
This guarantee must be signed by both parties and one copy returned to Ridge Runner German Shepherds, promptly or within 10 days after receiving the German Shepherd described above. When you sign your legal name below you are agreeing to all the terms in this contract and you understand completely your new responsibilities as a new German Shepherd owner.
